Winners of the 8th Sobouti-Khadjepour Prize for 2024 announced

Winners of the Eighth round of the Sobouti-Khadjepour Prize for 2024 have been announced. The Board of Trustees of the Sobouti-Khadjepour Prize has announced the winners of the eighth round of this award in the fields of Earth Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics. The laureates for 2024 are Dr Meisam Abdi, Dr Ramin Javadi, and Dr Sedigheh Sajadian.

  • Dr Meisam Abdi from the University of Tehran won the Earth Sciences prize for his significant research in computational geophysics and the application of data-driven decision-making methods in mineral exploration.
  • Dr Ramin Javadi from Isfahan University of Technology was awarded the prize in Mathematics for his outstanding research in measure theory of Ramsey numbers and important results in clustering and its algorithms.
  • Dr Sedigheh Sajadian, also from Isfahan University of Technology, received the Physics prize for her valuable research on the use of gravitational lensing in astronomy and astrophysics studies.

The Sabooti-Khajepour Scientific Prize, was created by a group of IASBS faculty on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences to honour its founders Prof Youssef Sobouti and Prof Mohammad-Reza Khadjepour. The award is given to young scientists in Iran who have conducted outstanding research in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Computer Science.
