On the occasion of National Public Culture Day, a campus cleanup campaign has taken place at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS). The campaign was held on Wednesday, 5 November 2025 in cooperation with the Vice-Presidency for Student and Socio-Cultural Affairs and the University Counselling and Health Centre, and was carried out across several parts of the campus.
The aim of the campaign was to promote a culture of social responsibility, strengthen collective participation and highlight the importance of environmental protection and the upkeep of university grounds.
At the closing ceremony, The IASBS President, Prof Sadollah Nasiri Gheydari, expressed his appreciation for the participation of faculty members, staff and students and emphasised the role of the university in embedding constructive social behaviour and fostering public culture. He regarded the active presence of university members in this cultural initiative as a sign of responsibility, social awareness and commitment to the university’s cultural values. In conclusion, Prof Nasiri Gheydari described the participants as “friends of public culture” and “models of social responsibility”.
As a token of appreciation for students’ participation, digital-content access packages containing Iranian e-books, audiobooks, magazines and podcasts were presented to participants. This initiative aimed to encourage a culture of digital reading and to reduce the consumption of paper and natural resources. Participants also received a copy of the book Optimising Water Consumption as a scientific and cultural memento.
The programme was warmly received by members of the university and showcased a spirit of solidarity, social responsibility and dedication to protecting the environment and cultural values on campus.
