IASBS Science House wins National Science Popularisation Award

The twenty-sixth National Science Popularisation Award of Iran has announced its winners. The ceremony was held on Thursday, 12 November 2025, at the Ivan Shams Hall in Tehran with the participation of academics, scientific managers and well-known figures in science and culture. In this event, the IASBS Science House received the statuette and certificate of appreciation of the Iranian Association for the Popularisation of Science in recognition of its significant and innovative contributions to promoting the basic sciences, linking science with society and inspiring the younger generation.

The IASBS President, Prof Sadollah Nasiri Gheydari, and the Director of the IASBS Science House, Dr Mehdi Darei, received the award on behalf of the university. The ceremony was also attended by leading figures including the Secretary-General of the UNESCO National Commission in Iran, Dr Hassan Fartousi, and the distinguished scholar of communication studies at Allameh Tabataba’i University, Dr Hadi Khaniki, who praised the contribution of the IASBS Science House to the advancement of scientific culture in the country.

The university management described this national distinction as the outcome of the sustained efforts of Science House members, the support of the wider university community and the trust of the scientific society. It emphasised that this achievement would serve as renewed motivation for strengthening and expanding the university’s scientific and outreach activities at provincial and national levels.
