A visit to the Minoo factory in Zanjan by faculty members and staff from the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS), managers and staff from its Science and Technology Park, and representatives of technology companies based at the park has provided an opportunity to learn first-hand about the factory’s production capabilities and explore prospects for scientific, research, and technological cooperation between the university, technology companies, and industry.
The programme began with an introduction to the factory’s history, development, and activities, giving visitors an overview of its food production capabilities.
Participants then toured various parts of the factory, including the biscuit and cake production lines and the technical and engineering sections. They observed the preparation and processing of raw materials, production and packaging, quality control, and specialist testing. Factory specialists also explained the technical and hygiene requirements for production, the capacity for sourcing and storing raw materials, and the factory’s operating procedures.
Learning about the factory’s production processes and operational needs provided a basis for a clearer understanding of industrial capabilities and challenges, and for exploring how the university’s scientific expertise and the technological capabilities of companies based at the Science and Technology Park could be applied.
The programme also included a meeting between university members and the company’s planning manager in the factory’s assembly hall. Following an introduction to the company’s activities and capabilities, participants discussed scientific and technological expertise and potential areas for joint cooperation.
The discussions addressed the use of new knowledge and technologies in production processes, improvements in productivity, and the identification of technological solutions to meet industrial needs.
The visit formed part of the IASBS Science and Technology Park’s approach to expanding interaction between technology companies and industries and identifying opportunities for scientific, research, and technological cooperation. This approach emphasises understanding industry’s actual needs and creating opportunities to apply scientific and specialist expertise to technological development.
