Research Interests

My research focuses on the structure and function of proteins in both healthy and diseased states. I investigate structural changes and the toxicity of amyloid protein aggregates involved in neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, I study functional amyloids within bacterial biofilms—produced by pathogenic species, food industry contaminants, and bacteria with potential for industrial applications. I am also committed to advancing bacterial biofilm research with a focus on its industrial applications.
