I am Shiva Akbari-Birgani an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at IASBS, Iran. My research primarily centers on investigating the roles of caspases in determining cell fate. By studying these processes, my goal is to identify novel approaches for cancer treatment. Additionally, I am actively involved in the development of organoid/adaptive organotypic models specifically tailored for breast cancer and glioblastoma research. Here's the list of our ongoing research projects and the students working on them: 1. Design and development of biosensors for real-time detection of cell death and cancer stem cells MSc Students: Roya Mokhtar, Najmeh Kiani, Zahra Madadi, Amir Hossein Esmaili, Tahereh Sohrabi 2. Comparative study of differentiation and apoptosis MSc Students: Zahra Madadi, Fatemeh Hakim, Marzieh Ajalifard, Seyed MohammadHossein Saeadimoghadam 3. Drug delivery in cancer therapy MSc Students: Masoud Mohseni, Parviz Davoodi, Alireza Taghizadeh-Tabarsi 4. Development of organoid/organotypic models of breast cancer and glioblastoma MSc Students: Sahar Moradi Mehr, Erfan Sefidgar, Seyed Ali Karimifard, Marzieh Ajalifard, Alireza Taghizadeh-Tabarsi, MohammadHossein SaeidiMoghadam, Mehrnaz Amjadi, Hananeh Asghari Ph.D. student: Farzaneh Fallahi For more information about our research, please visit my ResearchGate profile at Shiva Akbari-Birgani on ResearchGate.
