The IASBS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Politehnica University of Bucharest (UPB), Romania, to start scientific collaborations, enhance educational and research opportunities, exchange faculty and students, and establish joint degree courses. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the periodic meetings of the IoTrain project in Bucharest.
IoTrain is an EU-funded consortium-based project for capacity building in higher education. Within the IoTrain project, Iran, Iraq and some European countries are working on the design, needs analysis, and establishment of an MSc degree course in The Internet of Things. 3 universities from Germany, the UK, and Romania, 1 firm from Germany, 4 universities from Iran, and 2 universities from Iraq are involved in this project. The Politehnica University of Bucharest is one of the IoTrain project members with an Erasmus+ grant from the the European Union and hosted the periodic meetings of this project from 15 to 18 May 2022.
The MoU was exchanged between Dr Mahdi Bohlouli representing the IASBS President, Prof Babak Karimi, and the UPB Rector, Mr Mihnea Costoiu. The MoU provides a number of ways for the exchange of students and faculty, and promoting collaboration between the two universities in basic sciences. To start the collaborations, Prof Karimi has invited Mr Costoiu to travel to Iran and visit the IASBS.
