6 IASBS faculty on world's 2% most cited scientists list

The names of 6 IASBS faculty members have been placed on the list of the 2% most cited scientists of the world.

The Scopus academic database, in collaboration with Elsevier and Stanford University, has recently published a list of the top 2% of the most cited scientists in the world. The names of six faculty members from the University are included on this list: Prof Babak Karimi with 10,186 citations, Prof Mohammad Mahdi Najafpour with 7,095 citations, Prof Babak Kaboudin with 4,142 citations, Prof Hamid Abdollahi with 3,754 citations, Dr Mohammad Gholinejad with 2,589 citations, and Dr Fazlollah Soleymani with 2,488 citations. This citation list encompasses all research articles by these faculty members throughout their tenure at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences.

In addition, the names of eight IASBS faculty members are among the top 2% of cited scientists for the year 2023, based on total citations for that year. The individuals included are Prof Hossein Molavi with 895 citations, Prof Mohammad Mahdi Najafpour with 747 citations, Prof Babak Karimi with 564 citations, Dr Amin Abdollahi with 532 citations, Dr Mohammad Gholinejad with 341 citations, Prof Babak Kaboudin with 238 citations, Dr Fazlollah Soleimani with 231 citations, and Dr Elham Tahmasebi with 176 citations. Prof Babak Karimi has been listed among the top 1% of cited scientists in the world since 2008 and Prof Mohammad Mahdi Najafpour has been on the list since 2016.
